Remapping and tuning is a phrase that’s often misused in the ECU remapping industry. At Hybrid Tune we develop and write highly refined bespoke maps for your car’s OEM ECU. It enables us to calibrate each vehicle to its own specific needs.

Every engine is slightly unique with even very minor differences between brand new engines, these differences can be extenuated once you factor in different modifications and engine mileage or hours. So why would you want an identical “generic” ECU calibration? Well the truth is unless all the components are exactly as specified and your engine is identical to the test subject then you don’t, luckily this is where we can help.
Now there is a common misconception in the industry about the buzz work that is “custom”. A lot of tuners state they offer custom tuning. Now there are essentially 3 type of tuning company in the UK. A slave tuner, a company that relies on tuning files from their chosen dealer, depending on dealer they may pay £50-£150 per file. Now I’d say 90% of tuning companies in the UK fall under this and unfortunately this type of service will never be custom and if there is ever a complication in the tuning process essentially being a 3rd party it can end up in poor results. We know this because we fix a lot of issue caused by the like :).

The second would be a master file writing company. There aren’t many of these companies in the UK but essentially they’ll either develop their own ECU calibration for a particular vehicle/specification or outsource/buy in a solution then sell this on to all their slave dealers to use on their customer’s vehicles. Again nothing much in the way of custom here as usually it’s all about volume of sales but you can definitely expect a better service from a company like this.
The third would be an independent ECU calibration specialist who doesn’t sell files or have a dealer network. That’s us, it’s not about volume, it’s about the car that’s on our Dyno at that time on that day and it’s about getting the best safe and reliable results from that particular vehicle. All of the development we do in-house isn’t available from anyone else it is all for our customers. This is true “custom” ECU calibration.

Unfortunately, many companies who carry out “tuning” use very cheap copies of tools we use to read, write and edit files within OEM ECU’s. With our decades of experience, these tactics simply don’t cut it with us. We only deal in perfection using the highest quality equipment available.

We’ll perform an initial base power run on every car we remap. Performing extensive diagnostics to check your car is performing as it should, scanning every module on the vehicle to check for faults. When we’re happy we move on to the tuning process using our extensive knowledge to write a tailored map just for your car.

DYNO PROVEN RESULTS

We perform remapping on all our customer's car's utilizing a state-of-the-art MAHA MSR 500 4-wheel drive Dyno. The ultimate guarantee of accuracy and repeatability during the tuning process.

Rewriting a map and flashing it to your car’s ECU is something we don’t take lightly. In all honestly, it’s probably one of the most expensive possessions you have in your life. We never cut corners, this combined with our extensive development work on the Dyno certifies your car receives the best of the best.

Quite simply, if we think your car isn’t fit to be tuned, we let you know. It’s your car and when it’s in our hands we take the utmost care.

OBD Tuning

Most vehicles can be safely tuned and datalogged directly through your OBD2 connector. Luckily due to our access to a vast array of tools and databases even ECU’s which usually can’t be tuned through the OBD2 connecter can be done with us.

Bench Tuning (BDM, Boot)

A small percentage of vehicles have tuning protection which stops us from reading or writing the flash data on the EEPROM chip inside the ECU. The solution is to remove the ECU from the vehicle and either pin the ECU out on the bench or open the ECU case up and attach our cables directly to the ECU board to read and write directly to the chip. A job not to be taken on unless highly experienced.

Remote Tuning

We have a range of remote tuning products available using either the HP Tuners RTD or the Alientech Powergate 3+. This is only available to specific vehicles and only ones that can be tuned through the OBD2 Connectors. However mail order bench tuning or OBD unlock services can also be carried out.
