BMW/Mini’s B48A20B Engine is a very strong and tuneable engine and will easily make over 500NM of torque at 3000rpm. This version of the B48 has a slightly lower compression ratio than that of the B48A20A at 10.2:1. This does allow us to make a little more power from this engine but care still has to be taken as the pistons are still cast and we have seen these damaged before as a result of poor tuning.

Our HT320 Tuning Package for the B48A20B engine is the next step for people wanting to make a little bit more power. For this tuning package we require the car to have an upgraded exhaust system inc sports catalyst and intercooler. The additional cooling capacity of the intercooler and flow increase of the exhaust system help to free up some additional power from this engine.

HT350
Stage 3
Our HT350 Tuning Package for the B48A20B engine is the most we can reliably achieve from this engine before forged internals are needed. Alongside all the breathing modification needed for the HT320 package we also add on our MGT2867R turbo. The increase in flow potential with this turbo helps us to achieve this power output from this engine without increasing EMAP. This in turn reduces the chances of experiencing erratic combustion events like LSPI.

Our HT400 package is for those who want to get pretty serious about performance. The standard B48A20A engine is not suitable for this tuning package and at this point customers would need one of our Forged B48 Engines (See Engine Building). This package requires all the same hardware as our HT310 with the addition of our MGT2867R turbo. With our MGT2867R turbo performance is increased dramatically.**

HT500
Stage 4
Our HT500 Package is the ultimate in performance for the B48 engine platform. Featuring a custom tubular manifold, Garrett G25-585, custom intake pipe, custom downpipe and custom oil and coolant lines. Developed in partnership with Walton Motorsport and tested extensively at the Nurburgring Nordsleiffe we bring you a solution to take a B48 engine and turn it into a fully fledged race engine with unmatched performance when compared with anything else on offer for this engine. While peak power is improved dramatically the engine is still able to build boost pressure at around 3000rpm. With a rev limit of 7200rpm that gives drivers a nice broad power band to work with giving the best performance and lap time potential. Our very own development car has set a lap time at the Nurburgring of 7:57 and a 7:30 BTG making it the fastest Mini F56 potentially ever around the Nurburgring.
